Meet Our Veterinary Team
Dr. Ashley Sabedra
Dr. Ashley Sabedra graduated from Indiana University in 2011 and went on to earn her veterinary degree from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Since graduating, she has worked at Hobart Animal Clinic and developed strong interests in ultrasound and emergency and critical care. She currently lives in Valparaiso with her family and two dogs.

Dr. Sarah Withey
Dr. Sarah Withey grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She has spent more than a decade working as a small animal veterinarian in Northwest Indiana, with a focus on internal medicine and ultrasound. Outside of work, Dr. Withey enjoys hiking with her two nephews, working out, and riding the trails on her horse. At home, she shares her space with her two cats, Oscar and Dorian.

Dr. Jeanette Asuncion
Dr. Jeanette Asuncion is originally from the Detroit suburbs. After completing her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University, she earned her veterinary degree from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She spent a year in small animal practice near Detroit before relocating to Northwest Indiana in 1991 and going on to work in small animal practice in Illinois for 26 years. Dr. Asuncion brings over three decades of veterinary experience to the Crossroads Animal Hospital team and looks forward to forming lasting bonds with her new clients and their pets.
Dr. Asuncion has a special interest in internal medicine but genuinely enjoys the full variety of general practice—from a puppy’s very first visit to the quiet, meaningful moments at the end of a pet’s life. She is married with two children and keeps busy attending their activities outside of work. Her hobbies include gardening, playing piano, and spending time with family.

Dr. Dianna Anagnos
Dr. Dianna Anagnos is a 2010 graduate of Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She knew from a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian—and years later, that passion hasn’t dimmed. Dr. Anagnos loves getting to know her clients and is deeply committed to strengthening the human-animal bond through compassionate, expert care.
When not at work, you can find Dr. Anagnos spending time with her husband and two children, visiting museums, going to the zoo, and watching Disney movies. They share their home with several fish.

Dr. Matt Sharp
Dr. Matt Sharp graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and went on to complete an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012—an experience that deepened his surgical and clinical expertise early in his career. He joined the team at Hobart Animal Clinic in May 2018 and brings a thoughtful, skilled approach to every patient he sees.

Dr. Katie Schaefer
Dr. Katie Schaefer graduated from Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Her passion for animals and the natural world took root early, growing up near Patoka Lake and the Hoosier National Forest in southern Indiana. Today, she brings enthusiasm and curiosity to all areas of veterinary medicine and takes particular joy in building relationships with her clients and their pets.
Outside of work, Dr. Schaefer enjoys taking her Australian cattle dogs kayaking, hiking, and camping. She has a long-term goal of raising sheep and training her dogs to herd them, and also enjoys horseback riding, spending time with family, and rewatching Parks and Recreation and The Lord of the Rings.

Dr. Danny Schaefer
Dr. Schaefer earned his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Indiana State University. He graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He started working at Hobart Animal Clinic immediately after earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He is Fear Free certified and enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is most skilled at soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and preventative care. In his free time, Dr. Schaefer spends time with his pets, wife, and children. He has three Australian cattle dogs, two cats, several koi fish, a house full of plants, a few Nigerian Dwarf goats, and too many chickens. He enjoys the great outdoors and nature. His favorite activities are kayaking, canoeing, camping, hiking, and fishing with his family and dogs. He loves helping pets and their people and saving lives.
Dr. Sarah Middleton
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sarah enjoys running, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. A lifelong animal lover, she also has a full house of her own, including two dogs, one cat, two birds, a bunny, and eight ducks!
